The Best Of Times

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way

Charles Dickens Tale of two cities 1859

If Charles Dickens was alive today, he would be, Charlie, writing spin for one of the major parties, who are all touting their wears for our X in the write box,

Whatever happens on the political front , this will definitely be the end for ugly politicians, it may have been alright for front pages of the red tops or a little picture at the top of a long winded article in the more serious press but photogenic and presence will be the new buzz words

The Political X Factor, so far has a clear winner out in front ,Nick Clegg ,the underdog that we so love in this country ,but like all of these T V vote programmes the judges favorite , still needs the vote from the nation, and he did himself no favours ,because according to most of the teachers at my comprehensive , he will never do any good, standing there with his hands in his pockets

( it must not bother private school tutors ).

Dave as he likes to be known, seems like the type who will revert back to David once he gets in, his main stance is either vote for us or the country gets it ,this plan of pointing out how bad the government has done has worked for other parties in opposition ,so Its Dave who has been left open mouthed in shock once he had the smell of the grease paint, without the roar of the crowd.

Then in last place (what is he doing with his mouth) Gordon ,the equivalent of the teenage girl who cannot sing but is appearing with her granddad ,as her gran would love to hear them do well, just before they switch off her life support machine (the hearing is the last thing to go apparently ).

It was inevitable that politics would get a makeover, what with low turn outs at the booths especially the younger generation not bothering , but will the next step be into the now empty Big Brother house for a month with Davinna reminding them to watch their language as they are live on our screens and the BNP and SNP added for the final week, just to keep it all balanced, a word we could all here a lot more of in the coming weeks

Politics, Huh !! We have never had it so good .

In a Nutshell

I just want to live a simple life, in comfort with a clear conscience, with the least amount of exploitation, for my benefit as possible.
I am lucky, I live in a rich country with running water and I have money in my pocket.
I have the luxury of being able to drop out of the capitalist rat race to a level I am happy with, which is in between the people that think we do not need money, and those that live for it, with no thoughts to who they exploit .
This blog is my observation of those extremes as well as a few other observations as life rushes by
.

Three Words

In three words I can sum up everything
I’ve learned about life -
It goes on.
